Koinonia Orchestra of Europe

Het Koinonia Orchestra of Europe is een recent opgericht ensemble met thuisbasis in Brussel, dat een getalenteerde groep internationaal gerenommeerde jonge solisten en vrienden samenbrengt. Het orkest werd opgericht door dirigent Wouter Versavel en fluitist Marcello Masi.

De naam “Koinonia” vindt zijn oorsprong in het Oudgrieks en belichaamt begrippen als gemeenschap, gezamenlijke deelname, partnerschap en gedeelde bijdrage. Deze waarden weerspiegelen de kernmissie van het orkest: mensen verenigen via het artistieke proces, ongeacht hun gender, geaardheid, etnische of religieuze achtergrond.
